Underbridge Pictures is proud to be part of the Magnum Festival ‘07, with our exhibition of David Sokosh: Gay 90's. These black and white photographs document Sokosh’s observations at Celebrations in the New York Gay Community between 1990 and 2000. Sokosh created this body of work at the Gay Pride Parade, Dance on the Pier, the Gay Games, the Invasion of the Pines and Wigstock. His work is influenced by the great 20th century documentarians. The images are presented as selenium toned, fiber-based, gelatin silver prints. Using a square format, twin lens reflex camera and Tri-X film he has artfully captured a slice of life in New york which is not often seen.
